Based firmly in the observable world, I consider the street the ultimate place for authenticity and discovery. What fascinates me is how natural phenomena, such as the light of the sun, have the potential to create sublime moments of experience in the urban landscape. I use film and photography to explore this potential. Other themes in my work are: the private versus the public, the extraordinary in the everyday and the concept of social geography. Depending on the project I decide on my position and strategy, varying from the position of the observer to making small interventions to evoke an anticipated response. Ultimately my works both represent and evoke an experience and create a sense of wonder.
